Although this logo for the 2012 Olympics in London was created in 2007, it has been the center of much debate recently. Iran objects the logo because it believes that it spells Zion, a biblical term used to refer to Jerusalem. The logo was created with intent to say 2012 in a manner that appeals to the internet generation. This shows how design can be interpreted differently based on people’s culture and inherent belief systems. It is difficult to appeal to everybody in the world in this sense.
