Color & Logo
I think that the Old Navy logo was done very well. It’s simple and boring but truthfully, I think that’s what they were going for when they were trying to match their name. Their font is bold and unoriginal to complement the “old” and their color choice was navy to match the obvious “navy”. While I don’t think their typeface, choice of words, and colors help sell their merchandise, all three do it tie in well together.
I personally don’t love the Weather Channel’s logo. It’s simply a white typeface placed inside a blue box. I understand that the blue and white colors are used to portray “weather”, but I think they could have been more creative. The difference between this logo and Old Navy’s is that The Weather Channel has more room to be creative because of what they are trying to sell.
