Reading Response

I really enjoyed reading about text’s transformation in the 1990’s. As a child born in 1991, I never paid attention to the evolutionary process that letters were experiencing. The text said that designers began to break loose from their natural form and instead created words that were more relaxed and “bruised” rather than the typical straight edged letter. I found this really interesting because it shows that as time went by, society became less conservative socially as well as in terms of typography–who would have known? My favorite typography that was created in the 1990s would have to be  Zuzana Licko’s “Mrs Eaves”.
